Oregon hosted Utah Valley in a Doubleheader on Tuesday April 29th//KPNWSports

One word best describes the Oregon Ducks Softball team headed to the Women’s College World Series, dominant. From Starting Pitcher Cheridan Hawkins who won both games against the Golden Gophers to timely hitting and running the base pads, Mike White’s team is primed for success and the foundation has been building all season to this point. Hawkins had a few minor mistakes over the two game sweep including giving up a two run home run in Game two, but the Oregon offense did their job and provided a lead they would not give up. When they don’t have a lead they find ways to manufacture runs with patience at the plate and infield hits that in some cases leave you shaking your head. (See Third Baseman Courtney Ceo’s hit on Saturday with a 3-2 count after an 0-2 to start).

The Road to OKC has been mentioned all season long for this team, it has been posted in social media throughout the season as #EUG2OKC, and now it has come to fruition. The Oregon Ducks head to Oklahoma City for the second time in three years. Their first opponent, in a best of three series is Florida State, the ninth ranked team in the country. Game one is slated for Thursday, May 29th at 1:30pm PT. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
