The Oregon Ducks saw a hole in a position of need and decided to fill it on Friday. Entering the 2014 regular season, Defensive End is a spot with one Senior in Tony Washington returning from last year, along with a cast of young men that did pick up playing time last season in Christian French, Terrodney Prevot and Tyson Coleman.

On Friday the Oregon Ducks firmed up the position opposite Washington in the Fall by signing Junior College Transfer Eddie Heard as a late commitment to the 2014 Recruiting Class. Heard will enroll in classes this summer, following filling out Financial Aid paperwork and be ready for camp in the fall. The six foot four, two hundred and sixty pound Heard brings speed off the line and shows good instincts toward the quarterback in his highlight reel.

The Oregon Ducks can have some patience with Heard if necessary. He will have three years of eligibility and four years to fulfill them. Expect him to compete in Fall Camp for the Starting Defensive End spot opposite Senior Tony Washington.
