Pac-12: New 11am Pacific Time Television Window Open For Football in 2014

Oregon Takes on Utah at 1pm from Autzen Stadium.

The Pac-12 Conference has come to a decision on an issue that ran through the Conference last season. The number of night games in 2013 was over thirty causing fans to push for a change in the policy of the amount of games at night. The Oregon Ducks had several games after five pm, but one Oregon team seemed to have more in Oregon State.

Now, the Conference has found a window of opportunity, or it thinks so at the moment anyway. It was announced on Saturday, during Summer meetings that a new 11am PT window would be in place for the upcoming season in the Pac-12 Network for games. The Oregon Ducks are already on this schedule in the third week of the season with Wyoming and now, for the first time ever there is morning football on Saturdays. For fans travelling to the game from around the state this may still be an issue – just the opposite of the ‘night game issue.’ Now fans will have to get up early, but I’m sure many will get over it as the tailgating will begin around nine am.

The decision for the ’11 am window’ will be made for teams throughout the season as television contracts are decided. Of course the first game of the season for the Oregon Ducks is still slated for a 7:30pm PT kickoff on Pac-12 Networks.
