If you live in Eugene and live around the University of Oregon you have known for a few days that something big is going on. I have seen student athletes and coaches wearing their schools colors proudly and there have been plenty. NCAA Championship contenders from Florida, Iona State, Penn State, Arizona, South Carolina, Kentucky, and even a school that uses turquoise as their main color. Eugene and Hayward Field will host the Oregon Ducks and other athletes from throughout the country over the next four days. The NCAA Track and Field Championships start today and the Oregon Ducks enter the competition hungry with thirty nine athletes ready to compete.
The focus for Day One is on Women’s 800 meter runner Oregon Ducks Senior Laura Roesler. She has, in just four years become one of the most decorated athletes in the event for the Oregon Ducks. On Wednesday she looks to begin her quest for a National Championship at 4:45PT from Historic Hayward Field.
AutzenZoo will have coverage from all angles of the four day event, including LIVE coverage from Hayward Field on Friday and Saturday, for the Finals, with the Oregon Ducks, and other teams throughout the country, including site coverage and instant updates on Facebook and Twitter.
The Oregon Ducks Men’s and Women’s teams enter the competition in a great spot to end the year on top. The Oregon Ducks Men are already there at number one in the nation, the Women enter at number three.
