Several key publications that do their best to project what the upcoming season will look like have been released this week. Phil Steele has announced his Top 25 teams on ESPN and the Sporting News has come out with their Bowl Projections for the 2014 season with the Oregon Ducks playing in the title game.

First off, Steele sees the Oregon Ducks starting the season at number three behind Alabama and Florida and has those teams playing for a National Title, of course with a four team playoff the team from Eugene could still find themselves in the final, but Oregon has to get past several challenges to get there including an early non conference matchup with Michigan State and a visit from Stanford, albeit at home at Autzen Stadium this season.

Over at the Sporting News they have taken it one step further and predicted where teams will end up at the end of the year and the Oregon Ducks are playing in the National Title game against Oklahoma. SN sees Oregon getting past Florida State in the National Semifinal to make the title game. One of the teams that Oregon faces early, Michigan State picks up an Orange Bowl bid to face Clemson and Pac-12 Rival Stanford could face Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl. For the first time the Rose Bowl will feature a non Pac-12 matchup with Alabama and Oklahoma squaring off.

Of course, this is all possibility and the season still has to be played, but things can change on something as simple as a field goal kick as Oregon has learned in year’s past. The official kickoff for the 2014 season for the Oregon Ducks is Saturday, August 30th vs South Dakota(7:30pm PT, Pac-12 Networks)
