2014 Oregon Football, Eleven Impact Players: Cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu

facebooktwitterreddit

He was a key member of the Oregon Ducks Defense in 2013 and fans waited in the offseason to see if he would remain with the team or depart for the NFL. One key  member of the Oregon Ducks Cornerback rotation did leave in Terrance Mitchell, drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the late rounds of the NFL Draft. Now Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is considered the impact player of the group that also includes Troy Hill, and Dior Mathis. It is Olomu who will be seen as the leader of the group and following Spring Practice he talked about embracing that role for the upcoming season.

More from Oregon Ducks

Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is already being recognized with preseason All-American honors by several publications including The Sporting News. Of course the big games for Olomu, he would likely say are all of them, but I will be focusing on the showdowns this season with Michigan State and Stanford, both at Autzen Stadium. If the Oregon Ducks are going to make it to the College Football Playoff, Olomu is a key impact player that will get them there.

The Oregon Ducks kick off the regular season on Saturday, August 30th against South Dakota at Autzen Stadium(7:30pm PT, Pac-12 Networks)
