2014 Oregon Football, Eleven Impact Players: Running Back Royce Freeman

facebooktwitterreddit

247Sports says that 5-star recruit Royce Freeman will bring a little ‘Thunder’ to Oregon’s Lightning speed and I could not agree more. Freeman was not on campus to show his stuff during the Spring Game, but arrived just last week for Summer and will look to make the roster in the Fall. With his size I see Freeman being a major contributor to the Oregon Ducks Offense in 2014 . Freeman could easily be put into a slot that the Oregon Ducks have not utilized in the last few years, in part because they did not have to.

Freeman could fill the spot in the lineup for third and fourth downs when the Oregon Ducks are looking for short yardage. His size reminds me of Johnathan Stewart and his quickness can be elusive when he gets going. This young Freshman, if he sees the field at Autzen Stadium this upcoming season could quickly become a fan favorite. Even Freshman can be impact players dependent on their performance and Freeman fits it to a tee for this season.

The Oregon Ducks kick off the 2014 season hosting South Dakota on Saturday, August 30th at Autzen Staduim.(7:30pm PT, Pac-12 Networks)
