Oregon Ducks Devon Allen Wraps Up Second 110 Meter Title in Two Weeks
The Oregon Ducks have quite the dual sport athlete in Devon Allen, who two weekends ago won the NCAA Track and Field Championships in the one-hundred and ten meter hurdles, breaking a record set in 1979 and winning in 13.16 seconds. He took his talents this week to the US Track and Field Championships and the result was pretty much the same. Allen had a photo finish at the US Track and Field Championships on Sunday afternoon. He won the race at 13.155 just ahead of Ryan Allen at 13.160.

It is Allen’s second career Track and Field Victory after taking away the NCAA Championship last weekend and now the focus will be on the gridiron as a Wide Receiver for the Oregon Ducks Football team this fall in a position that will likely utilize his speed. With the win on Sunday, Devon Allen became the first Oregon Duck to win a US Championship while still in college since Galen Rupp did it in 2009. Rupp had a weekend for himself winning the 10,000 Meters. He has now taken the title for the 10,000 meters six times in a row.
