Fox Sports: Oregon Ducks Devon Allen Among Top 20 'Freaks' for 2014 Season

Bruce Feldman and Fox Sports have released their Top Twenty List for ‘Freaks’ in College Football for the upcoming 2014 season and one Oregon Ducks Athlete is near the top of the list at number three, but he is not pictured with a helmet and cleats, but as a Track and Field Star at the University of Oregon. Dual sport athlete Devon Allen used his speed last month to take the NCAA Championships 100 meter hurdles title by running in the fourth fastest time this season, 13.16.

Allen’s speed, according to Fox Sports is now ‘track certified’ and it will be interesting to see that speed on the football field at Autzen Stadium this Fall. Another name from the Pac-12 Conference that made the list was Arizona State Sundevils Offensive Tackle Jamil Douglas at number sixteen. Douglas is a three year starter at the position for Arizona State and will look to build on a strong 2013 campaign this Fall. Other notables on the ‘Freaks’ list include Baylor Quarterback Bryce Petty, Louisville Cardinals Wide Receiver De Vonte Parker at fifteen, and Georgia Bulldogs Running Back Todd Gurley at number seven. The top ‘freak’ on the list Auburn Tigers Wideout Sammie Coates whose ability is ‘freakish’ in nature as he makes defenders miss tackles left and right. He was third in the nation last season in catches. His average for a touchdown catch was fifty four yards.

Allen and the Oregon Ducks will start Fall Camp on August 4th and officially start the 2014 season hosting South Dakota on Saturday, August 30th. (7:30pm PT, Pac-12 Networks.)
