More from Oregon Ducks in the NFL

James had a touch on offense, rushed seven times for a total of nine yards, received a seven yard pass and had a return for eleven yards with the assistance of a brace. San Francisco is in need of help at the running back position following the camp injury and release of Kendall who was later placed on injured reserve with San Francisco.

The San Francisco backfield will be led by Starter Frank Gore followed by several other backs including former Ohio State back Carlos Hyde, also Marcus Lattimore who is coming off a year of recovering from injury. Last season James was used mainly as a return man as he learned the offense. He is almost being forced into the lineup with the injuries the team has had in the preseason. Time will tell if he can turn it on and show his talent at the next level.

San Francisco wraps up the preseason this week visiting Houston on Thursday night at 5pm Pacific Time. The team kicks off the regular season traveling to Dallas to take on the Cowboys on Saturday, September 7th at 1:25pm Pacific Time.
