Oregon RB Recruit Taj Griffin Tears ACL in First High School Game of 2014

One of the top recruits in the country had a stellar first game of the season, until the fourth quarter. He told trainers he heard a pop in his knee following an awkward catch of a punt. He tore ACL according to a report from 247Sports and will miss the remainder of the high school football season. Griffin has the offseason to rehab before starting to play for the Oregon Ducks next season. Knee injuries have already taken Oregon Wide Receiver Bralon Addison for what looks to be part of the upcoming season. He injured his ACL in Spring Camp with Oregon and hopes to return during the season.

To have a highly touted recruit go down with an injury early in his final high school season is somewhat concerning. The upside is Taj Griffin will have the year to recover from the injury and enter his college years at Oregon stronger. Of course, once your injured if there is anything nagging with her performance on the field that will be the first thing pointed out. Last season Griffin rushed fir 1,994 yards and nine touchdowns for the Indians.
