The 2015 Baseball season is upon us and rankings for the Nation’s best teams are beginning to fall into place. The Oregon Ducks lost some key players last season, but some are returning due to injury. One cornerstone of the pitching staff, Cole Irvin, is back following Tommy John Surgery. Irvin was injured before the 2014 season even began for the Ducks and is likely one of the reasons that D1Baseball has George Horton’s team ranked in their Top 25 to start the season.

The Ducks will have some work to do starting toward the end of the list at twenty-two. Oregon will play a lighter non-conference slate this year compared to the last two seasons where the top ranked team Vanderbilt was on the schedule.

Oregon is among three Pac-12 teams on the list. Behind them at twenty-four is Arizona State and ahead of them in the Top 5, UCLA comes in at number four. Oregon will begin their season in a familiar place travelling to Hawaii for a four game set starting on February13th. The Ducks first home stand of 2015 inludes a four game set with New Mexico and a single with Portland starting the following week on Thursday February 19th.

Pac-12 play for the Oregon Ducke begins on Friday, March 13th. They will face UCLA for one series this year and it comes at the end of the season at PK Park for three games starting Friday May 22nd.
