Takeda Leads Oregon in 19-1 Run Ruled Win Over Cal

The Oregon Softball team swept the Cal Bears out of Howe Field over the weekend with a nineteen run onslaught from the Offense on Sunday afternoon. It was the final regular season home game at Howe Field this season as the team makes a push to the post season.

Oregon posted forty hits in the series to the Bears who had just ten. Oregon pitchers were dominant in the series including Starter Cheridan Hawkins allowed one run on three hits in four innings to to along with seven strikeouts in the series finale against the Bears, but it was the Ducks Offense that was the main story.

Oregon Ducks Left Fielder Janie Takeda took another Oregon Record with her one-hundred ninety-fourth run breaking the former record of one-hundred ninety three by Courtney Ceo. Takeda went 4-4 on the day with four RBI’s and four runs scored. She has returned to mid season form after a shoulder injury sidelined her for several series.

Oregon closes out the regular season this weekend with a three games series at Arizona starting on Thursday.
