Oregon Ducks Hang On For Win Against North Dakota State
The Oregon Ducks are headed to the Regional Final after defeating North Dakota State on Friday. It was a rough start for Oregon Starter Cheridan Hawkins who gave up a first inning home run and three runs overall, but the Oregon Offense got rolling in the fourth inning. Janie Takeda was again a force with a double to start the inning. On Thursday she had two stolen bases in the win over BYU.
With the win, the games for Friday were complete for Oregon taking a two win advantage into the Final on Friday. On Thursday it was Hawkins who was unhittable. Friday it was a different story, Hawkins was hittable, and the Oregon Offense had to adjust to North Dakota State pitching. It took until the fourth inning. Oregon now moves to the Regional final. Who will they face is still to be determined.
Fresno State, BYU and North Dakota State will play two games to determine who goes home, and who will remain to face the Ducks for one or possibly to games on Saturday to move on to the Super Regional round. If the Ducks win, they will host again at Howe Field next weekend.
Oregon will play in the final on Saturday against either BYU or North Dakota State at 1pm Pacific Time. AutzenZoo will have coverage of the game on our Twitter feed Live from Howe Field.
