Oregon Softball Set To Host North Carolina State in Super Regional
The Oregon Ducks will host North Carolina State in the Super Regional Round at Howe Field this weekend. It will the final games played at the historic field, which was originally built for baseball in 1936 before being renovated for softball in 1987. Howe has seen a lot of softball including an 18-0 mark over the last six seasons for Oregon Head Coach Mike White in the Regional Round.

North Carolina State is 38-20 on the season and is hitting at .271 as a team. Both Oregon and NC State have some history. They played a non-conference game on February 8th 2014 with Oregon winning 5-0. Oregon Starter Cheridan Hawkins pitched a one-hitter with ten strikeouts. She was bested that day by NC State Starter Emily Weiman who had a strong start to go with eleven strikeouts but she walked six in the loss. The Ducks Offense that day also left thirteen runners on base.
In the Eugene Regional Oregon Starter Cheridan Hawkins threw in all three games, two as a starter and went fourteen total innings giving up four hits and striking out twenty-five. Oregon and NC State begin their best of three series on Friday at 6pm at Howe Field. Game two is set for Saturday at Noon. A third game, if necessary will start at 3pm Saturday. All three games will be broadcast on ESPNU.
