Former Oregon Duck Johnathan Loyd Returning to Hardwood, Will Play in China Next Week

Former Oregon Ducks Basketball player Johnathan Loyd finished his basketball career in th 2013-14 season, but became a dual sport athlete working with the football team in 2014. Loyd is returning to the hardwood as part of the USA Men’s All Star Basketball team this summer that will play in China in a Four Nation International Basketball Tournament.

According to Netscouts, the team will face three different teams in three cities starting on June 22nd and ending on July 2nd.  The tournament will be nine games in total and will see the National teem face China, Denmark, and Slovenia in a round robin tournament returning to the United States on July 3rd ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

Johnathan Loyd played  at Oregon under Coach Dana Altman and was part of a record ninety-four wins on the hardwood. In 2014 he traded in his basketball jersey for a football jersey and became a member of the Oregon Football team and scoring his

in September in a game against Wyoming. He now returns to the basketball court and joins Head Coach Bruce Chavka from Lane Community College in Eugene and Portland State Forward Kyle Coston will also be part of the contingent from Oregon.
