When the season began, the Oregon Women’s Volleyball team was tested right off the bat with the first month of the season on the road. It was a good test for this team. It turned them into road warriors for the 2015 season and gave them experience to build on. They took some of that experience into UCLA on Thursday night in a dogfight, and came out with a five set victory against a top ten team. In a year that has not necessarily seen the ball fall on the right side of the net, the Oregon Ducks are looking to scratch and claw their way into the post season. Thursday was a good start toward that goal, and likely one of their last chances to begin a winning streak that can get them into the NCAA Tournament.

The Oregon Ducks have only won the first set this season two times. They have lost seven in Pac-12 play. UCLA his .479 in the first set for a win to start the match, but the Oregon Defense came to play the rest of the game according to GoDucks.com. The win was special. It was the teams first win vs a team ranked this season, and also the first win over a top ten team since beating Penn State on the road in Happy Valley to start the season back in 2012. The Road Warriors now return home for the remainder of the regular season. The road, for now leads to Matthew Knight Arena with the final four matches of the season at home in Eugene.

Taylor Agost has stepped up and hit better than .300 over the last five matches for the Oregon Ducks who will look to take the momentum into their next game. It will be another game where Oregon will need to be focused against Washington State next Wednesday at Matthew Knight Arena.(7:30pm Pacific Time, Pac-12 Networks)
