The Oregon Ducks are getting the jump on the Class of 2018 and have offered their third student athlete in the last few weeks. The latest addition to the Class is list as an Athlete and talked about his Eugene visit and offer with 247Sports.

Talanoa Hufanga is an in-state recruit out of Corvallis, Oregon. He is a 4-star recruit and listed at the third best in the Beaver State.

The Oregon Ducks are taking advantage of recruits within close proxinity of campus this Spring and it appears the ones they like are given offers before the leave, which could pay big dividends down the road. First impressions are sometimes the ones that last, or in this case last more than a year before the ultimate decision is made for those making the early trip to Eugene.

HUDL Highlights of Quarterback/Strong Safety Talanoa Hufanga

For the next few seasons the Oregon Ducks are set at the Quarterback positiom with Travis Jonsen and Dakota Prukop likely taking the 1/2 positions for the 2016 season. Next year the hope will be to turn the ball over to Jonsen. If Hufanga chooses Oregon, being a dual player could be to his benefit.

In watching his highlights, most have him playing at Quarterback, the one thing that stands out is his speed. There are several up the middle runs, that appeared very Marcus Mariota-like where Hufanga used his instinct, had two Defenders miss, and 10 yards later flew past four more Defenders for either a big gain or a touchdown. Defensively he also has skills. His closing speed is impressive and he is not afraid to hit someone. Keep in mind that he still has another season at the High School level to perfect his skill set.

Talanoa Hufanga also holds early offers from four other Pac-12 schools including his hometown team Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, and Utah.
