The Oregon Ducks begin a three games series this weekend against Oregon State in Corvallis. Not much has gone right recently for George Horton and the Ducks. The team was swept this past week by Gonzaga and are in the midst of a losing streak they need to dig out of for a shot at the NCAA Tournament, now a mere 12 games away.

Of late hitting has not been the issue, but pitching. Starter Matt Krook has thrown back to back outings where the starter gave up multiple runs and walks and threw an average of just over two innings in his last two outings. As a result he was not in the Starting rotation last weekend, but did get a midweek start against the Bulldogs.

Oregon Head Coach George Horton will pick up his one-thousandth career win with the team next victory. It would be nice to see Oregon get all three games in Corvallis after a 1-1 series tie at PK Park in non-conference play so far in 2016.

The Opening Home Series of 2016 featured solid pitching from Cole Irvin, Matt Krook, and David Peterson. The Ducks will need to be confident and dominant on the mound this weekend at Oregon State, regardless of who is on the mound. It will be one game at a time. Both teams are at 10-11 in the Pac-12 and just three games out of first place entering the weekend.
