Oregon Basketball Recruiting: 2018 Power Forward Marvin Bagley III Has Ducks In Top 6

The Oregon Ducks run in the Elite 8 in 2016 is giving Dana Altman and th,e team an opportunity to build for the future as recruits across the country are taking notice of the program.

Marvin Bagley III, a member of the Class if 2018 recently put out his ‘Top’ list on Twitter and among the Pac-12 schools he has listed, the Oregon Ducks made his list. Arizona, UCLA, and Arizona State along with Duke and Kentucky. Granted, 2018 is still a few years away, but the Power Forward will become a wanted player soon enough.

The Oregon Ducks have had several seasons of players that have been one and done or two and done In 2016 team chemistry was high and will be once again as some of the key players will return stronger and hungrier to battle it out in the Pac-12. Oregon returns four of their top five scorers including Dillon Brooks and Tyler Dorsey.

According to Andrew Nemic from the Oregonian, having sights set on Marvin Bagley shows that elite talent is looking at Oregon. He comes in as the top ranked recruit in the country right now and was the MaxPreps Athlete of the Year in 2015 averaging over 20 points per game.

During the season, Altman spoke to the media on several occasions on how Arizona was the cream of the crop in the Pac-12. With recruiting and wins, the Oregon Ducks are starting to shift the Pac-12 Narrative toward Eugene and Matthew Knight Arena. Getting the attention of top recruits is part of the battle, but to win the war they need to play at Matthew Knight Arena.
