Day 4 Final Report

The Oregon Ducks Women’s Track and Field Team looks to make a move on Championship Saturday.

While the Oregon Men had the shot at the NCAA Team Title if things had fallen their way, the Oregon Women’s team is in the position of ruining the day of those ranked ahead of them. With just eight competitors in the final day of events, they could easily land in the Top 5, but likely not the Top spot for a NCAA Team Title for Women’s Track and Field. What the team has done to this point is impressive.

Raevyn Rogers helped lead the charge on Thursday to get to this point as the Ducks have a chance at some key individual NCAA Championships on the Track Saturday afternoon. The Ducks get it started with the 4×100 Relay, followed by Annie LeBlanc in the 1500 meters. Ariana Washington is running in both the 100 and 200 meter finals, and Rogers will look to defend her 800 meter NCAA Title jut before 5pm.

Arkansas came into the meet with 30 overall atheletes are are considered the team to beat on Saturday for the Oregon Women’s Track and Field team.

Justin Phillips reports from the NCAA Championships can be heard here.

The NCAA Track and Field Championships are the last event to be held at Hayward Field until the US Track and Field Olympic Trials starting on July 1st.
