Day 10 Recap

The final day of competition at the 2016 Olympic Trials will see nine with Oregon ties look to punch their ticket to Rio for the Olympics. .

The 2016 Olympic Trials for Track and Field conclude on Sunday, but before they do Oregon could add to the seven athletes that are already set for Rio. Jordan Hasay, who missed the cut in the 10,000 Meters earlier this week will look to earn a spot in the 5000 Meter Final(4:28pm). The theme for the Women of Oregon continues with some solid competition in the Women”s 200 Meter Final.

Jenna Prandini, Ariana Washington, and Deajah Stevens have already made a name for themselves a this year’s Trials, but all three made it through to the final with Stevens beating out the competition in her Semi Final Heat yesterday by close to half a second. The 200 Meter Final will also feature Allison Felix and Jeneba Tarmoh, both who can handle the pressure. Can the Oregon contingent step up?

The day for Oregon fans will conclude with the Men’s 1500 and and another race filled with the Green and Yellow led by Andrew Wheating, who is looking to get back to Rio along with Matthew Centrowitz, Jordan McNamara, Johnny Gregorek, and Daniel Winn.

Weather for the day is cloudy with showers. It has rained on and off this morning and the same is expected for the final day of competition at Historic Hayward Field.
