The Oregon Ducks have shut down Dillon Brooks, who is suffering with a foot injury. It is not known how this will effect things as the 2016-17 approaches.

The injury bug is something that Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman knows all too well. He has had to deal with it several times in his six seasons with the Oregon Ducks. Word came from several sources, including KEZI-TV in Eugene on Tuesday that Brooks is dealing with a foot injury, that if not handled properly could lead to a bigger issue.

Oregon has put a halt to Summer Workouts for Brooks while they figure out what the best course of action is, which will likely be rest, something that the Pac-12 Player of the Year Candidate from 2016 probably doesn’t want to hear.  At the moment, it is still the ‘wait and see’ approach as Altman is still working with team doctors as to the next step. Altman said the foot was not broken.

"It is too early to tell. I have not heard from the doctors one way or another. We are trying to give him and the doctors time to figure out which way to go.Coach Dana Altman on the status of Dillon Brooks(via the Register Guard)"

On Tuesday, the bracket was announced for the Maui Invitational. Oregon will face Georgetown on November 21st in their opening round game. The game is four months away. We can hope that is enough time for Dillon Brooks to recover and get back on the court.
