With the Oregon Ducks starting Fall Camp on Monday, we can only hope there is not a trickle down effect. With NFL Camps opening over the last week, news came on Sunday that second year Chicago Bears Center Hroniss Grasu tore his ACL in Practice. He will miss the upcoming season.
Adam Schefter, via the Sun Times, said Hroniss Grasu will need surgery. As of this morning, it was next man up in the rotation at Center as Ted Latsen stepped into the position according to John Mullin from Comcast Sportsnet. Injures are typically a part of Fall Camp, or at least have appeared to be in recent years at both the College and Professional Level.
In his final season at Oregon, it was clear as the season came to an end that Grasu was battling injury. He was on a scooter as his final season came to an end at Autzen Stadium. The bigger question now has to do with the strength of the Offensive Line in Chicago as the Questions now begin if it will be enough to protect Quarterback Jake Cutler for the upcoming season barring any further injuries.
