Even more impressive is the way they are doing it. Five of the six matches have been in the form of three game sweeps, including this past weekend in the Oregon Classic. Illinois, Belmont and Saint Mary’s were swept out of Matthew Knight Arena thanks to big hitting and solid blocking and serving.

Oregon starts this week ranked 24th in the latest AVCA Poll. The team started the season just outside the Top 25, but dropped their first to matches, at the time to #10 Florida and #2 Texas. The Ducks are 7-2, winning seven straight. Amanda Benson had a big weekend averaging 5 digs per set on Defense earning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week Honors.

Freshman Ronika Stone is averaging just over one block per set, and putting away opponents with kills 433-332. The non-conference slate is now complete as Pac-12 play begins this week.

Oregon will begin at home facing Oregon State on Thursday before taking on Cal Saturday at Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks and Beavers kick off the 2016 Civil War Series on Thursday at 8pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Networks.
