Oregon Football: Coaching Momentum On The Side Of Willie Taggart
This week has been good for USF Head Coach Willie Taggart as the Bulls Set Records Across The Board This Season.
Among the names for the opening at the University of Oregon for Head Coach, Willie Taggart may have heard his name mentioned. Over the last few days, the USF Offense has been honored by the AAC Conference. The team overall has a record win total, a record breaking Offense and they are taking care of business in the classroom with a Record GPA.
If the Oregon Ducks wanted a Head Coach coming off a record setting season with a ton of positive publicity, Taggart may be their guy. Of course, Rob Mullens would like to have a decision sooner rather than later and the Bulls are certainly in the running for a higher tier bowl game this season.
Willie Taggart also has a pedigree that Mullens may be looking for. He ran a spread Offense with USF, and also is a West Coast guy having been an Assistant at Stanford meaning Oregon Football would have someone who knows the layout when recruiting. Speaking of recruiting….
It is the area that Taggart seems to struggle. He has the East in Florida and knew the West when he was with Stanford, but over the last several years recruiting under his watch at USF had dropped according to CFBMatrix. It may be a cause for concern, but the program he would be selling in Eugene is different than the program he has built in Tampa.
The big question though, can he be pulled away from continuing the success at the University of South Florida for a fresh start with the Oregon Football team?
