The process of finding a Head Coach may be coming together with PJ Fleck and the Oregon Ducks.

There has been a lot of speculation this week as to who Athletic Director Rob Mullens would give the keys to Oregon Football to, and we may be getting closer to an answer.

USA Today is reporting that PJ Fleck may be meeting with the University of Oregon following the MAC Title Game on Friday night. According to the report, Fleck was considered in the running for the position at Purdue, but the opening with the Oregon Ducks appears to be more attractive if he likes what he hears from Mullens and Company.

PJ Fleck has turned Western Michigan into a powerhouse and similar to Chip Kelly is an Offensive Mind with a ‘Row The Boat’ Mantra. You can read more about him in a piece he wrote for The Players’ Tribune earlier this week.

Bleacher Report calls him unknown, well he is on the verge of an undefeated 13-0 season and a berth in the Cotton Bowl for Western Michigan. He is certainly a coach on the way up and may soon be looked at to take the next step as a College Football Coach.

I have discussed the challenges of being the Head Coach at Oregon, but Fleck would be a great hire. He is an up and coming coach which you like to see. At the next level, we can hope if he ‘is’ the guy the Oregon Administration will give him time to succeed.
