Now that the College Football Playoff Top 4 has been announced, will we find out today who will be the Oregon Ducks next Head Coach?

Oregon Ducks Athletic Director Rob Mullens has spent the last two days in Grapevine, Texas working with the College Football Playoff Committee, He has done some entertaining too. On Friday he hosted USF Head Coach Willie Taggart concerning the Oregon Football Head Coach opening.

Boise State Head Coach Bryan Carsin also interviewed. Of course, we have not yet heard if PJ Fleck would have an open door to talk with Mullens after his MAC Championship win with Western Michigan on Friday night. Following the team banquet he is expected to head out recruiting later on Sunday.

Other names that have cropped up include Greg Schiano from Ohio State and former Ducks Quarterback Bill Musgrave to name a few. Chip Kelly and Scott Frost have already said they are not candidates for the open position with the Oregon Ducks.

Mullens has a good track record when it comes to Head Coaches. Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dana Altman and Women’s Basketball Head Coach Kelly Graves were hired under his watch.

Rob Mullens is looking to work relatively quickly with this search and have someone in place by next week at the latest according to ESPN. Now that the CFP work is complete I expect a decision on the big question will be answered soon.
