Oregon Ducks Ruthy Hebard Named Pac-12 Freshman Of The Week
Oregon Ducks Freshman Ruthy Hebard has tallied double-digit totals in scoring over the last three games.
In doing that, she was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week by the Conference of Champions. He efforts helped the Oregon Women’s Basketball team to a 2-1 record last week with wins against Portland State on Saturday at the Moda Center and a win on the road at Clemson.
Oregon shot 55 percent against the Portland State and over three games Hebard was a big reason for the Ducks success hitting on over 80 percent of her shots from the floor, the majority inside the paint. She garnered comparisons this week to Jillian Alleyne. Hebard had 28 points against the Vikings and tallied 22 points in the win over the Clemson Tigers.
Lexi Bando and Sabrini Ionescu have also had some headlining time for Oregon during the non-conference slate with Ionescu picking up two triple-doubles so far this season. Bando is one of the best three-point shooters in the Pac-12 in 2016 and now Ruthy Hebard leads the Nation in field goal percentage at 81.5 percent.
