Oregon Football Head Coach Willie Taggart has completed his Defensive Assistants and has hired a Defensive Line Coach.

The Pac-12 Conference has now had three coaches come to Oregon under Willie Taggart. The first was Colorado Defensive Coordinator Jim Leavitt followed by Buffs Cornerbacks Coach Charles Clark. We can add Washington State Defensive Line Coach Joe Salave’a to the list according to FootballScoop.

Salave’a will become the Oregon Ducks Defensive Line Coach after having been in the same role at Washington State the last two seasons. Prior to 2014, he held the role at Arizona State and San Jose State. He played in the National Football League for six seasons and had a role in a Super Bowl as a substitute.

Joe Salave’a is coming off a successful season with Washington State as the Defense helped get the Cougars to a 2nd place finish in the Pac-12 North behind the Washington Huskies. He is a West Coast guy who has players experience at the next level. As far as recruiting, and being a player at Arizona and Coach at Arizona State and Washington State, he could help get West Coast players to play for Oregon Football.

Oregon is still looking for an Offensive Coordinator which will likely finish off the Oregon Football Coaching Staff. With National Signing Day approaching on February 1st and the College Football season now completed, I expect Taggart is closing in on who he wants to lead the Offense.
