Oregon Softball: Ducks Take Undefeated Record Into Mary Nutter Classic

The Oregon Softball takes an undefeated record into Mary Nutter Classic this weekend.

Two Freshman keyed the Oregon Ducks to a 6-0 start with Mia Camuso leading the team in hitting entering the weekend at .474. Freshman Pitcher Maggie Balint is off to a solid start for her Oregon career going 4-0 last weekend in the Kajikawa Classic. She posted 33 strikeouts in four games pitched. Sophomore Megan Kleist also came through the opening weekend with victory.

This weekend the Oregon Ducks head to another tournament in the Mary Nutter Classic. The Ducks face five teams starting with 22nd ranked Kentucky and Kent State on Friday. The Ducks will also see 5-0 Liberty, Cal State Northridge and Illinois from the Big Ten Conference.

The Oregon Ducks Offense is off to a solid start with 38 runs. The team has given up 10 runs in the first week of the season. The team ERA for Oregon is 0.88 and the Oregon Ducks are hitting .344 to start the year. Only Liberty and Illinois are hitting at a higher clip in the Mary Nutter Classic this weekend.

The Tournament begins on Friday with two games. Kentucky and Oregon will see first pitch at 12:30pm. Oregon then faces Kent State at 3pm Pacific Time. The Ducks get started early over the weekend. Saturday will see Liberty and Oregon start at 10am, followed by Cal State Northridge at 12:30. Illinois closes out the weekend on Sunday for a 9am PT first pitch.
