Oregon Softball: Megan Kleist Caps Perfect Weekend With No Hitter

The Oregon Ducks Softball team showed they were one of the elite teams in the country with four more wins over the weekend.

Oregon saw their biggest challenge of the weekend on Saturday against Montana, but once again Freshman shined to power the Oregon Ducks to a win. Miranda Elish did not allow zeroes on the scoreboard to get to her. She threw a stellar 6 1/3 innings of no-hit ball. Mia Camuso had the lone run in a 1-0 win for Oregon.

The winning continued against UNLV and another win over Montana(6-2) before the Tournament Finale against Hawaii. Megan Kleist looked to join Maggie Balint on a 2 win weekend and she did.

Sophomore Megan Kleist threw the first no-hitter of her career and she had some help from the Oregon Offense who had one of their best days of the season. Mike White watched the Ducks find 17 runs on 14 hits to cap off another undefeated weekend.

Danica Mercado had three hits to go with 2 Runs and 2 RBI’s. Mia Camuso had three hits a run and 3 RBI’s. Oregon is hitting and pitching on all cylinders. As a team, Oregon Ducks Pitching combined for a Team ERA under 1 and posted 38 strikeouts and just 4 walks over the weekend.

Oregon will head to one more tournament next weekend before their home opener. The Ducks face Maryland in the Missouri Classic Friday at 10:30am PT. The  tournament will be broadcast on KWVA in the Eugene/Springfield area.
