Last season the Oregon Ducks Baseball team was swept at Mississippi State and young talent looks to turn it around in 2017.

The Oregon Ducks Baseball team is 4-3 as they return to PK Park for their home opening series starting on Friday night. While the Ducks come in with young talent making an early impact on the season, the Bulldogs come to Eugene with experienced talent that can put runs on the board. Oregon pitching will be challenged this weekend starting with David Peterson on Friday night.

Mississippi State has scored 8 or more runs in 8 straight games and comes in leading the SEC in key Offensive Categories including Runs Scored, RBI’s and 11 Homeruns on the season through nine games. Peterson will have to find the strike zone early.

The Oregon Ducks have found early Offense of their own with four players batting over .300 on the young season. Jake Bennett leads the way with 4 runs and 8 hits. Kenyon Yovan is batting at .250 as a Freshman and could be the one to watch all season. He is also credited with two saves this year and playing both sides of the ball.

From the mound, the Ducks are giving up a .259 batting average to the opposition and David Peterson(1-1) will look to lower his 8.10 ERA on Friday night.
