Oregon Softball: Ducks Sweep California To Start Pac-12 Play

Oregon picked up a run ruled win over California on Sunday with Megan Kleist earning her ninth win of the year.

The Oregon Ducks opened the weekend taking two of three from Cal at Jane Sanders Stadium. The first game was a 5-1 win over the Golden Bears pitched by Maggie Balint. Miranda Elish pitched Game 2, a 2-1 win over Cal to get to 26-0 on the season and 2-0 in Pac-12 play.

The third game of the series started with Cal getting a run in the top of the first over Oregon Starter Megan Kleist. The Oregon Ducks tried to get the Offense going in the bottom of the first, loading the bases. Cal Starter Z Conley handcuffed Oregon in the first inning throwing 36 pitches, with more than a few foul balls.

The Oregon Ducks came back with three runs in the bottom of the second to make it 3-1 Ducks. Oregon struck again in the bottom of the third with two runs to take a 5-1 lead. Mike White watched his team tack on three more hits and four runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to take a 9-2 lead.

Danica Mercado scored on a Mia Camuso flyout to end the game as a run rule for the Oregon Ducks at Jane Sanders Stadium.

Next: Oregon Ducks Face Duke Monday

Oregon swept the three game series over Cal and travel to Utah this week for a three games series starting Friday. All three games will be on the Pac-12 Network.
