It has been a rough week for the Oregon Men’s Basketball team with Tyler Dorsey and Dillon Brooks heading for the NBA Draft and Casey Benson not returning for his Senior Season.

On Thursday, the Oregon Ducks lost another key piece of the puzzle that took them to their first Final Four in 78 years. Casey Benson, the ‘sixth’ man for the Ducks this season announced on Twitter that he is set to graduate and will transfer from Oregon and play his Senior Season outside of Eugene.

The emergence of Freshman Payton Pritchard this season has made Benson somewhat expendable, and it appears he is looking for somewhere that he can land a starting role on Offense. He averaged five points and two assists this season and landed key shots when Oregon needed them most.

It now appears as though the band is not getting back together, at least not in the form it was before. Next season will have new faces with Starting Roles in the Oregon Offense. Head Coach Dana Altman will begin again with the building process. One player has yet to make an announcement concerning his future. We wait to hear from Jordan Bell, but with Dorsey and Brooks departing, I expect Bell will test the NBA Waters too.
