Tim Susnara was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks after he was selected in the 8th Round of the MLB Draft and he started his Professional Career in a familiar place.

Susnara was moved to the Hillsboro Hops to begin his stint in the Minor Leagues within the Diamondbacks Organizaion and on Monday night he faced the Eugene Emeralds in a familiar place, PK Park. The former Oregon Ducks Catcher roved the infield at PK Park for the Oregon Ducks for three seasons.

The Emeralds had some fun with Susnara with their Promotional team making him the ‘Beer Batter’ meaning $3 Ninkasi beers for 15 minutes if he strikes out. Susnara went 0 for 3 in the game, but did draw a walk. Susnara is also at a new position as a Pro.

After spending three seasons behind the plate for the Oregon Ducks, he is being groomed for second base by Arizona. It was his second game at the next level and Susnara said the familiarity of PK Park helped him adjust, “You know it helps out when it’s home territory to you. You’ve played a ton of games here for three years, it helps me out a lot.”

The Eugene Emeralds won the game 2-1. Susnara had several opportunities to get an RBI, but was unsuccessful at the plate. The three game series runs through Wednesday night at PK Park
