The recruiting battle for Taeshon Cherry may come down to a friend who has already committed to play for the Oregon Ducks.

While Head Coach Dana Altman is putting together the pieces from last season’s Final Four run after losing key pieces to the NBA Draft in Jordan Bell, Dillon Brooks, and Tyler Dorsey, the team is eyeing the 2018 Recruiting Class. One key player may be Power Forward Teashon Cherry, who is set to pick between six schools on Friday with Arizona and the Oregon Ducks among them.

Cherry is considered an Elite 4-Star according to 247Sports and he has a close friend and teammate already in the fold wth Oregon. Miles Norris committed to Dana Alman last month. Could Oregon land two high caliber Power Forwards in the Class of 2018?

USC, San Diego State, and Florida State are also among the possible landing spots for Cherry.

With what Dana Altman has built in Eugene over the last seven seasons I would think it would be an easy decision to make. The team has momentum in a ‘rebuilding’ year. Altman just sent three guys into the NBA with Bell, Brooks, and Dorsey being taken in the Second Round of the NBA Draft.

The program’s success is well-documented with Pac-12 Titles to go along with NCAA Appearances in the Elite 8 the past two seasons and a Final Four Appearance, the team’s first since they won it all back in 1939.
