According to the report, it was a financial move for Atlanta. It happened less than 24 hours after Tim Hardaway Jr. was offered by the New York Knicks. Hardaway Jr. is a restricted free agent and could depart. The Hawks have until Monday to respond. If they cut him loose, Dorsey will be the beneficiary of key play time for the upcoming season.

The 41st Overall Pick in the NBA Draft brings with him a solid three-point game. Dorsey can put up the points as he showed during the NCAA Tournament, helping the Oregon Ducks to their second Elite Eight in two seasons. Dorsey put up an average of 20 points and 4 rebounds per game during the 2016-17 post season for Oregon.

Atlanta has put in the work with their NBA Draft picks signing two of their three to deals. Dorsey is not listed on the Summer League Roster for the Atlanta Hawks. The NBA Summer League begins in Las Vegas Today and Runs through July 17th.
