When you look toward the draft later this month, several Oregon players will be headed to the NFL, certainly among them is Former Duck Dion Jordan. This video is pretty impressive as far as showing off his speed and agility on the field.

HUB Video: ESPN SportsScience: Dion Jordan

The ESPN Sports Science Series does some pretty cool things. It breaks things down even further than his performance during the NFL Combine and shows you numbers that you wouldn’t normally see. His speed when he accelerates is amazing to me. In the video he gets to 16 miles per hour in just three steps…yeah, you read that right….three steps.

Jordan is also ranked throughout the video versus several other athletes that did the ESPN Performance test this year and in some areas he is ranked pretty high. Ultimately we know he will play on Sunday’s somewhere, and we also know from the video that if the opposing Offensive line can’t contain him in about 4 seconds…their Quarterback may need some help getting peeled from the turf.

Several projections have Jordan heading to Philadelphia to join former coach Chip Kelly, another has him headed to Jacksonville. We’ll know for sure in a few weeks. From the looks of it, wherever he lands he will be a playmaker.

Pro Day for the Ducks on Thursday was a day for players who didn’t have the chance to perform atthe NFL Combine to do so for NFL personnel at the Moshofksy Center. Several players who were invited to the NFL Combine last month were also working out for scouts on Oregon’s Pro Day including Kenjon Barner who ran the 40 yard dash

At least one scout had @KBDeuce4 at 4.39 on one of his 40s. The other was closer to 4.5. That 4.39 is the low end of multiple scouts’ times. Tweet from @DuckFootball (Rob Moseley, Register Guard)

One of the more impressive performances of the day was from Offensive Lineman Ryan Clanton who bench pressed 225 pounds forty two times, more reps than any athlete at the NFL Combine. Some of the other highlights of the day included the performance of Michael Clay and a limited performance from Kiko Alonso, who ran the 40 yard dash at 4.68 and 4.71 seconds.

Scouting Ducks: NFL Pro Day at Oregon (via the Register Guard)

Barner was asked about where he would like to go in the draft. He gave the same answer he gave me in a chat he had with EA Sports earlier this month in saying, “anywhere that I can sign a contract.”

Michael Clay, who wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine, probably made the most solid impression physically, adding some muscle to his frame over the last few months as he prepared for his shot at the next level. On Thursday impressions were made with NFL teams, including Kansas City Head Coach Andy Reid who was at the Mo Center. We should know in a little over a month who may have helped their own cause when it comes to the NFL Draft and also in Free Agency.

All it takes is one player on a roster to get injured for an opportunity to play ball at the next level for some of these Ducks. From the sound of it, they are all ready to step in and contribute if asked.

The 2013 NFL Combine is a place where college players can show off their talent on and off the field. Five Oregon Ducks had the opportunity this week to workout with NFL trainers, as well as former players, General Managers and Coaches.

Oregon’s Contingent included Defensive End Dion Jordan, Running Back Kenjon Barner, Linebacker Kiko Alonso, Offensive Lineman Kyle Long, and Defensive Back John Boyett.

Below are some of the links looking back a the 2013 NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

Let’s take a quick look at several players who look to improve their Draft Status, starting with Defensive End Dion Jordan.

Feb 23, 2013; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Oregon Ducks defensive lineman Dion Jordan speaks at a press conference during the 2013 NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Dion Jordan ran the 40 yard Dash in 4.60 seconds, which tied him for third overall. Jordan has a torn labrum and will undergo shoulder surgery this week. He played with the tear throughout part of his Senior year with the Ducks.

NFL combine: Former Oregon Ducks defensive end Dion Jordan impressive in workouts

Sporting News has a look at the Winners and Losers of the NFL Combine.

Jordan looks to be a potential first round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft for a team in need. His former coach is even paying attention.

Jan. 3, 2013; Glendale, AZ, USA: Oregon Ducks running back Kenjon Barner (24) against the Kansas State Wildcats during the 2013 Fiesta Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Former Oregon Running Back Kenjon Barner is also looking to the NFL. His 40 yard dash time was 4.52 seconds, whcih was good enough for 6th place in the NFL Combine, but he impressed with his speed, quickness and ability to catch the ball in other drills at the NFL Combine.

One site has Barner ranked as between the 3rd and 8th best running backs in this year’s draft.

Offensive Lineman Kyle Long was also invited to the NFL Combine to show his skill for the next level. The son of NFL Hall of Famer Howie Long, some are saying that he has worked his way back to being an NFL prospect. Long did set a 40 yard dash time of 4.94, which is considered good for an Offensive Lineman. He did nothing to decrease his stock during the Combine.

Former Oregon Linebacker Kiko Alonso did not run the 40 yard dash due to an injury. He is seen as a mid level draft pick, somewhere between the 4th and 7th rounds by NFL.com

John Boyett, who missed most of his senior season due to surgeries to repair his legs is at the NFL Combine today. This morning he showed off some upper body strength with an impressive 27 reps at 225 pounds on the bench press, which is among the leaders on the day. As far as running it’s not known what he will be able to do the rest of today. NFL Scouts like Boyett, but one sees him as a second day pick or a free agent.

Players not invited to the NFL Combine, including Linebacker Michael Clay will have their workouts on campus at the University of Oregon March 14th.
