Jordan’s name has been listed everywhere but outside of the Top 15 heading into the NFL Draft. Many had predicted him to have a homecoming of sorts with his former coach Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles, but Jordan went to a team where there was a solid need for a Defensive End, the Miami Dolphins.

According to Andy Kent from Dolphins.com, General Manager Jeff Ireland thought enough of the athletic Jordan to give up the first of his two second-round picks (42nd overall) and swap first-round selections with the Oakland Raiders make it happen.

“I’m going to bring tremendous athletic ability. Overall, I’m a great person and I’m ready to just get in there and work with the guys.”

Jordan told ESPN’s Suzy Kolber backstage at Radio City Music Hall in New York City after donning a Dolphins ballcap.

Kent continues Jordan’s 4.60 in the 40-yard dash tied for the third fastest among defensive ends at the NFL Combine and his leap of 10 feet, 2 inches in the broad jump tied for fourth and he had the procedure done on his shoulder shortly after, missing Oregon’s Pro Day. Some see him as an outside linebacker at the next level and his 12.5 sacks over his last two seasons certainly stand out from a pass-rushing standpoint.

Other Ducks looking for a new home this weekend include Kenjon Barner(2nd-4th Round likely) and Offensive Lineman Kyle Long (Late 1st-3rd Round). Long has a unique situation in that he can play multiple positions and be molded to fit wherever he lands.

Included were 87 snaps at Washington State. Played a major role in Oregon finishing second in the Pac-10 in fewest quarterback sacks allowed (16) as well as leading the league in rushing offense (14th nationally) for the first time since 1955. Helped the Ducks rush for 315 yards at Arizona State as well as 316 yards vs. Washington. Honored along with the entire offensive line as team’s “offensive player of the week” for their play against Washington, and singled out as player of the week for his performance against Oklahoma said GoDucks.com

Schwartz also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings.

Kansas City has the first pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and may still be looking at an Offensive Lineman. Schwartz has the ability to play both at the Guard or Tackle position.

In case you missed any of the happenings surrounding the Ducks this past week, here’s a quick look back.

Costa Comes Back to the Nest

Former Oregon Quarterback Nate Costa is returning to the U of O as a Graduate Assistant for Coach Mark Helfrich. He’ll be doing all the things Graduate Assitants love to do, and then some.

Final Living Member of 1939 Championship Team Passes Away

Some sad news to report, on Friday the Ducks lost the final living member of the 1939 National Championship Oregon Ducks known as the Tall Firs. Ford Mullen died at 86. Larry Stone from the Seattle Times talked to Ford a few years back. It provides a nice retrospective.

Oct. 14, 2012; Glendale, AZ, USA; Mandatory Credit: Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Former Duck Sets the Bar in the NFL

Some NFL News, the Buffalo Bills have put their franchise tag on former Oregon Duck, Safety Jairus Byrd. It is set at $6.916 Million.

Did the Ducks Frustrate a Coach into Resigning?

ESPN has reported that Monte Kiffin, USC’s Defensive Coordinator this past season told his son Head Coach Lane Kiffin that he would resign at the end of the season. Why is that a big deal? He told the USC Head Coach following the Oregon game this past season. The Ducks beat the Trojans 62-51. Shortly after leaving USC he was hired back to the NFL as the Defensive Coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.

2013 Soon to Be Household Names

Finally, if your looking ahead to the 2013 Season (the Oregon Spring game is just under two months away), then check out some of the players set to have a ‘Breakout’ Season. Some of the names on the list are known contributers from this past year, others are guys who have been with the program and for one reason or another haven’t had the chance to perform on the field…yet.
