There is quite a bit to get to in this week’s LinkedUp. Arizona Head Coach Rich Rodriguez is apparently working on his movie career, plus CoachingSearch.com has a look at Oregon’s Scott Frost in his new role as Offensive Coordinator, ESPN takes a look at what was lost last season as far as rushing goes and where it will come from this season for the Pac 12 North.

Well get started with an article I saw this morning about Oregon’s Scott Frost.

Duck Offense Will Burn off Morning Frost

Apr, 27, 2013; Eugene, OR, USA; Oregon Ducks players line up as they warm up before the spring game at Autzen Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

In the article Chris Vannini says Frost told the story of Chip’s message of everyone buying into the program.

“The best part of our team right now is just the attitude of the team, the culture of the team. Our team gets and understands what we want to do so well that, after Chip left, I swear the team could have run itself. We have all those pieces in place, we have pieces moving in the right direction, but things have to go right for you during the season. You have to stay healthy, you have to win a couple close games to be where the top teams want to be. Only one team can get there. We’re going to fight and battle every game to do the best we can and see where we end up.”

You can read more of the conversation with Frost via CoachingSearch.com

RichRod Gets His Closeup, Along with All of His Cohorts….I Mean Coaches

If Arizona Coach Rich Rodriguez ever wanted to play a Sheriff in the Old West I would cast him for the part tomorrow. Of course, he would have to give up his position at Arizona to make the move to Hollywood. On second thought, maybe he should keep his day job.

Oregon Baseball Players Cash In: Healy Signs with A’s, Wipe with Rangers

After having a phenomenal season for the Ducks, First Baseman Ryon Healy has signed a deal with the Oakland A’s after being chosen 100th in the MLB Draft earlier this month. The slot value gives him a signing bonus of around $500,000.

In a bigger surprise Freshman Cole Wiper, a 10th Round Draft Pick has signed a deal with the Texas Rangers for a $700,000 signing bonus. He was coming off Tommy John Surgery in 2011 and threw just over 12 innings for the Ducks this past season.

ESPN: Pac 12 North Running Backs Plus or Minus for 2013

The folks at ESPN are far better at math than me and have broken down what Pac 12 North teams have lost, pretty much down to the yard for each team heading into 2013. Oregon led the league in rushing last year with 4098 yards on the ground. With the loss of Kenjon Barner the Ducks return 53 percent of their rushing offense this season – yes, Barner accounted for 47 percent of the work on the ground.

(Share Clip)

Here is a more in depth look at the Ducks and other teams in the Pac 12. I feel bad for Washington State.

Imagine this scenerio for a moment. You commit to play for a school and for nine months wait for your opportunity, but you get a phone call saying the scholarship you were getting was going to someone else who could potentially be a better athlete/player. That is what happened to Forward Richard Amardi.

However he doesn’t have to worry anymore about where he will play. He is an Oregon Duck. Word broke late yesterday that he has given his commitment to the Ducks and Head Coach Dana Altman. Amardi is going to help fill a position of need for Oregon in the front court. After losing several key pieces from last year’s NCAA Tournament run to graduation, Altman has put together a stellar class of transfers, as well as a solid recruiting class for Oregon.

Amardi is 6′ 9″, 220 pounds and according to AddictedtoQuack.com, he excels at crashing the glass and finishing at the rim, and also shows the ability to knock down mid-range jumpers. I can see Dotson and Amardi having a mid range jumper jump off – if there is such a thing. Not sure I would pay to watch that, but it would be entertaining at least.

Amardi has one year of eligibility remaning and joins transfers Mike Moser(from UNLV), and Elgin Cook(Northwest Florida State) along with Freshman Jordan Bell and Cristiano Felicio.

Several Months ago former Oregon Duck Kenjon Barner made it through to the semi finals of the NCAA Football 14 Cover vote. He ended up losing out to Michigan’s Denard Robinson for the honor. The game, which is chock full of some solid new features since last season is due out officially on July 9th, but fans can get their hands on a Demo copy of NCAA Football 14 starting today.

There’s even a bonus for Duck fans. Oregon is one of the featured teams in the demo. According to Operation Sports, a site filled with tips and tricks for a wide variety of games. For me, the game matchup is more intriguing for the Ducks.

The demo features six teams, Oregon vs Texas A&M, Alabama vs Virginia Tech and a Big 10 Matchup with Ohio State and Michigan. Of course, as a demo it does have some limitations and not all the full features of the game are included. Operation Sports says it includes three minute quarters, skills trainer mode, and a new coordinator camera angle.

If you have the chance to play the demo, let me know what you liked about it in the comments section.

In a related post from last week, Oregon’s De’Anthony Thomas is one of the fastest players in the EA Sports game for 2014.

Here’s a quick look at what players will be able to control in the demo from Fansided’s Josh Sanchez.

Again, the full version of EA Sports NCAA Football 14 is due in stores on July 9th.
