To this point none nearly as splashy as the two mentioned above.

A Former Oregon Duck found his way to Philadelphia. Safety Patrick Chung will have the chance to play for his former coach. In a matter of a few hours after free agency began, they signed defensive lineman Isaac Sopoaga, safety Patrick Chung, and tight end James Casey to three-year contracts and cornerback Bradley Fletcher and linebacker Jason Phillips to two-year deals.

According to Comcast Sportsnetin Philadelphia Chung’s deal is worth $10 Million over 3 years.

Four of these players are young and teachable. They came out of the 2009 Draft and all have NFL Field experience. Chung most recently with the New England Patriots.

Chung opened the 2012 season as a starter alongside Steve Gregory, but after injuring his shoulder late in an Oct. 14 loss at Seattle never regained his spot on the depth chart. The Patriots ultimately moved Devin McCourty from cornerback to safety and Chung was utilized as a reserve upon his return.

According to ESPN, in his four seasons with the Patriots, Chung played in 50 of a possible regular-season games, as he battled a series of injuries. He totaled 235 tackles (coaches tabulations), three sacks and seven interceptions, while adding 25 special teams tackles.

The Patriots have McCourty, Gregory, 2012 second-round draft choice Tavon Wilson and 2012 sixth-round draft pick Nate Ebner atop the current safety depth chart.

The folks in Philly now have a full 80s band so to speak in signing both Offensive Tackle Ed Wang, and Safety Patrick Chung.
