A road shutout was a heck of a way to follow up an emotional win over No. 2 Ohio State and Oregon football showed up in West Lafayette and immediately shut down the "Spoilermakers" en route to a 35-0 win.

Purdue stood no chance against the new No. 2 team in the country (now the No. 1 team in college football) and Dillon Gabriel and Co. coasted to a shutout win.

With another tally in the win column, let's play a little game of two truths and a lie, post-Purdue win edition.

Truth: Oregon is the best team in the Big Ten

As if this wasn't established last weekend, Oregon is the best team that the Big Ten has to offer. While a lot of contenders might struggle a bit following a massive win over the previously assumed Big Ten favorite, there was no Oregon hangover at Purdue.

Sure, the game could have been much smoother, but you can't knock a 35-0 win in Big Ten play while putting up 421 yards and allowing just 300. It was a complete team performance.

Oregon is the clear class of the Big Ten.

Truth: The weapons on offense make Oregon impossible to defend

Even when some guys don't play well or aren't available, Oregon has an excess of offensive weapons that make it nearly impossible to defend.

Tez Johnson and Evan Stewart have been playing really well lately and without Traeshon Holden, the offense didn't skip a beat. Even Terrance Ferguson was out after having his appendix removed and Kenyon Sadiq played well in his absence, catching two passes for 58 yards.

When you have weapons upon weapons like Oregon does, it makes you impossible to defend.

Lie: This defense is in trouble without Jordan Burch

I know, I know, this was just Purdue, but the fact that people were panicking about Jordan Burch's injury and subsequent absence looks silly because there are so many defenders ready to step up.

The defense is not in trouble and his injury might even make the unit as a whole stronger and deeper when he does return. It's looking that way thus far, holding Ohio State to 31 points last week and shutting Purdue out in Week 8.

Thinking this defense was going to be in trouble without Burch was admittedly silly.
