Oregon Ducks vs. Colorado Buffs | First Quarter Recap

  • Oregon won the toss and elected to start with the football.  Oregon is donning all white uniforms today with green numbers.  Bryan Bennett is at QB.  Bennett breaks out rushing for 43 yards to the 12 yard line (personal foul penalty against Colorado).  13:24 TD Oregon #24 Kenjon Barner and conversion good – 96 seconds for the TD drive.
  • Colorado’s first drive; Hansen gets the first down with a 9 yard pass to Clemons.  Hanson continuing to feel the pressure this season and gets sacked.  Colorado backed up with a 3rd and 27, but can’t convert.  The Buffs punt out of their first drive.
  • No return for Harris on Oregon’s second drive.  Bennett stays in at the QB position.  Barner finds the huge hole and gets 31 yards.  Barner gets to the 10 yard line with another rushing play.  DAT runs into the endzone for another Oregon TD.  PAT good.  Oregon goes up 15 – 0 with 7:06 left in the first quarter.
  • Colorado gets the ball again and is sacked again.  That’s two for two for Oregon’s defense (Kaddu).  Colorado goes three-and-out.
  • The Ducks get the ball back.  Kenjon Barner gets a quick 84-yard TD run, but there is a flag on the play.  Touchdown stands, Colorado picks up a personal foul penalty.  PAT good.  Oregon up 22 – 0 with 4:05 remaining in the 1st quarter.
  • Hansen can’t get the ball in anyone’s hands so the Buffs go three-and-out again.  Oregon will get the ball with about three minutes left.  Still plenty of time to put points on the board.
  • DeAnthony Thomas gets the first down for Oregon with a 20 yard rush.  Bennett throws a long pass (31-yard) to Paulson and gets the touchdown.  PAT good and Oregon is up 29 – 0 with 1:13 left on the clock.
  • The Buffs get a first down and the crowd gives a big cheer.
