Oregon Ducks Soccer | First Civil War of the Year Ends in a Tie
The first Civil War of the year ended last night in a tie. The Oregon women soccer team battled the Oregon State Beavers and it all came down to a 1 – 1 tie. It was a come-from-behind tie for the Ducks as they tried to take down #21 OSU in Corvallis.
Head coach Tara Erickson was extremely pleased with the effort;
” We defended well all over the field and moved on both offense and defense. That was probably one of our most complete games of the season. Maddy Mercier, as an outside back, played awesome and Abby (Steele) played well in goal. Scout (Libke) and LT (Lauren Thompson) played very organized against some good Oregon State forwards and our younger players played great in their first Civil War.”

The Beavs went up early in the match when Chelsea Buckland shot her 11th goal of the season in the 14th minute of play. Oregon scored their tying goal in the 20th minute of play. The goal came after an OSU foul; on the second attempt at the net during the possession Bri Pugh got the ball in and scored her 4th goal of the season.
