Priest Willis interested in Oregon
Four-star defensive back recruit Priest Willis has received 16 offers and has a list of 26 schools at this point. One of those schools is the Oregon Ducks, but there doesn’t seem to be any indication that the Ducks have sent Willis a formal offer his way. It is unclear as to whether or not Willis will play safety or cornerback in college, but most scouts, Rivals included, believe that he is best suited as a corner.
There is no doubt that Priest Willis is one of the most talented players in the west, and he would be a huge addition for the Ducks. However, the only links between Willis and the Ducks right now are mere rumors. Willis has indicated that he is interested in receiving an offer from a big Pac-12 school like Oregon, and he has received an offer from hated rivals Oregon State.
The other teams who have sent out offers to Priest Willis are Arizona State, USC, UCLA, Utah, Washington, and Arizona. Willis is also interested in Washington State and Colorado, but he has not received an offer from either of them. The Stanford Cardinal cannot be found on the four-star, close to a five-star, recruit’s list. Big schools outside of the Pac-12- such as Michigan, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma- have also extended offers to Priest Willis and have serious interest in adding him.
Willis, by most accounts, has legitimate interest in the Oregon Ducks and would like to see an offer from them or at least receive more information from them. His options are all wide open at this point, and the top 15 CB recruit is viewed by some as a top 100 recruit in the country for 2013. Priest Willis is arguably the biggest prize in Arizona, and the Tempe native was humbled by the amount of interest he received, including an offer from Arizona State. Willis is a hot commodity at this point, and the Ducks need to start getting in on the race soon.
