Oregon Ducks offer Evan Voeller

Four-star guard Evan Voeller attended the Oregon Ducks Junior Day, and the 6’5″, 285 pound recruit out of West Linn, Oregon came away with an offer from the Ducks. Voeller is an imposing top 150 recruit who would definitely be a huge help in replenishing the Oregon Ducks interior offensive line. He currently has offers from UCLA, Washington, Washington State, and Texas A&M. Two big schools in the SEC, Alabama and Auburn, also have interest in Evan Voeller.

Two rival Pac-12 teams, Washington and Oregon, will be going hard after this guard recruit. He is easily one of the top recruits in the state, so consider the Ducks as the front-runners right now. Evan Voeller is keeping his options wide open, but the recent offer coupled with the Junior Day performance are encouraging signs for Ducks fans.

The glaring weakness in Voeller’s game is his inability to drive a defensive lineman off the line, and he has trouble sealing defensive linemen. However, he makes up for that with a quick first step and great lateral movement. Evan Voeller is alright a quality pass blocker, but there is obviously room for him to grow. He has a lot of potential in that regard, because not many guards can move as wlel as him. Some scouting services believe he is a tackle, and it doesn’t matter if he plays at guard or tackle. Evan Voeller has the ability to succeed at both positions on the line.

Getting to the second level is especially important for guards, as is pulling. Those are two key aspects of the game that Evan Voeller excels at, and his movement is just insane for a 6’5″ guard. Voeller also possess strong arms, which are a plus for whoever has them. Just ask the guy who is trying to get by, or contain, a player with long arms; they will tell you just how hard it is to beat them.
