Akeem Harrison Recruiting Update
A tight end in college, Texas recruit Akeem Harrison will either play at outside linebacker or wide receiver in college, but he rates higher as an OLB. The three-star recruit is one of the best 30 outside linebackers in the nation and among the top 60 recruits in the state of Texas. According to Rivals, Boise State is the only team to have sent an offer, although ESPN and 247Sports have not listed any offers for him.
Akeem Harrison is being highly recruited by some of the biggest schools in the nation including LSU, Oregon, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M. He isn’t too concerned about where he plays in college, as long as he is on a roster. Watch for TCU, Baylor, and Arkansas as three other noteworthy schools who want to bring Akeem Harrison on board.
This OLB was a second-team all-district tight end in Killeen and is even getting interest from Texas and Oklahoma, according to 247Sports. He will most likely go to one of the big schools, but Oregon has recently made a push and has an outside chance at landing Akeem Harrison.
The OLB went to LSU’s and A&M’s Junior Days last month and is listed as a top 400 recruit in the country by 247Sports. That may not seem like much, but he is a versatile 6’1″, 210 pound OLB who can succeed with any team. Akeem Harrison would be a nice add for the Ducks, but the chances are slim with all the big schools near Texas getting in on it. Oregon is starting to become a bigger name in this recruiting venture, and Harrison obviously recognizes the Ducks as one of the premier schools in the country.
