Lewis Neal and Oregon Ducks
Weakside defensive end Lewis Neal has not been formally rated by recruiting services, but the recruit out of North Carolina is highly rated by schools and scouts. He is a four-star recruit in my book, and the Oregon Ducks have interest in adding the 6’3″ 230 pound DE who has a 4.7 40. He is a solid addition to most defensive lines in the country and has the ability to disrupt plays in the backfield before they develop.
Lewis Neal currently has interest from Alabama, Clemson, Miami, Ohio State, Florida, Maryland, and UCLA; basically every ACC team is in on the DE. Neal currently has offers from Clemson, East Carolina, N.C. State, UNC, OSU, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest which illustrates the level of interest from the ACC.
Smart schools that snap up recruits, like OSU, Oregon, and ‘Bama, are rightfully taking notice of Lewis Neal. He is a four-star recruit, or should be, and can definitely add an extra element to a defensive line looking for an additional body.
247Sports rates him as a three-star recruit and isn’t enamored with him, but they are underrating Lewis Neal. At the very least, he is a high-line three-star or a low-line four-star and is one of the best 30 players at his position and in the state. His most recent offer has come from Wake Forest, but Lewis Neal was definitely impressed after his visit to Ohio State.
