Pac-12 Tournament Preview

When one thinks of the Pac-12 this year, they do not think of the words “power conference.” This is because of how bad the competition in the Pac-12 has been. However, as of late, the Pac-12 Conference Tournament is going to be a three dog race between the Oregon Ducks, California Golden Bears, and Washington Huskies. This is who will win the conference tournament and who will be the surprise team or the team to watch in the Pac-12 Conference Tournament.

I believe that Washington will not win the Pac-12 Conference Tournament. The top seed in the Pac-12 will have a tough road ahead if they would even like to win the conference tournament. They will make the final game of the tournament, but in the end will be defeated by the Oregon Ducks. Oregon in my mind will win the Pac-12 Conference Tournament. The reason why I think this is because of one word and one word only, momentum. The Oregon Ducks are bringing so much momentum from their last two regular season games against the Colorado Buffaloes and the Utah Utes. I strongly believe that the first game bye will give Oregon that a little bit of rest is needed and then they will come out running because most importantly this is a team that thinks they should have won the Pac-12 regular season crown.

My surprise team or my team to watch in the Pac-12 Conference Tournament has to be the California Golden Bears. How can California be a surprise team if they are the #2 seed in the tournament? Because of the exact opposite reason for Oregon, lack of momentum. The California Golden Bears lost their last two games of the regular season and to me this is why they are my surprise team of the Pac-12 Conference Tournament. The only aspect that is scary about California is the fact that they are a team with a clip on their shoulder. Exactly like the Oregon Ducks, this team believes they should have won the Pac-12 regular season title and they will be a team that could very well make a run if they decided to turn their game on. We could very likely seeing this team in the Big Dance.
